RT. HON. FRED AGBEDI BOOSTS LEGISLATIVE MEDIA CAPACITY WITH DIGITAL GOVERNANCE TRAINING
Rt. Hon. (Chief) Frederick Yeitiemone Agbedi, Ph.D, Member representing Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has once again demonstrated his strong commitment to capacity building and effective legislative representation by sponsoring his Media Aide, Mr Chris Debunsha Solomon, to participate in a high-level Capacity Building Retreat on Digital Governance for Media Aides.
The retreat, facilitated by the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, is organised under the leadership of Rep. Akintunde Rotimi, MNIPR, and Rep. (Dr.) Philip Agbese, with technical support from Paradigm Initiative, Nigeria. The programme is strategically designed to strengthen the professional competence of legislative media aides in navigating the rapidly evolving digital governance landscape.
Focused on enhancing legislative reporting and media strategy in the digital age, the capacity-building programme exposes participants to expert-led sessions and practical engagements on critical issues such as digital rights, global digital governance trends, and Nigeria’s evolving digital rights framework. These areas are essential for promoting transparency, effective communication, and meaningful citizen engagement in contemporary governance.
By sponsoring his media aide, Mr Chris Debunsha Solomon for the important retreat, Rt. Hon. Agbedi has once again earned commendation for prioritising human capital development, as part of his broader commitment to empowering young professionals and strengthening institutional capacity. The Capacity Building Retreat was held on Monday, January 19, 2026, at the National Assembly Library, National Assembly Complex, Abuja.
