FROM BRUSSELS BELGIUM TO TROFANI: AGBEDI JOINS BAYELSA FIRST LADY TO HONOUR DAME ZIKAMA PIGHI

Rt. Hon. Fred Agbedi, Member representing the Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency, joined Her Excellency, Dr. Gloria Diri, First Lady of Bayelsa State, and other dignitaries to pay their final respects to the late Dame Zikama Pighi, who was laid to rest in her hometown of Trofani Community, Sagbama Local Government Area.

Rt. Hon. Agbedi made a swift return to the state following his participation in an important international summit in Brussels, Belgium, underscoring his deep sense of duty and solidarity with the bereaved family and the Trofani community. Dame Zikama Pighi passed away at the age of 86, leaving behind a legacy of faith, discipline, and service.

The late matriarch’s children—among them Mr. Victor Peremobowei Isicheli, Head of Protocol at the Government House, and Mrs. Ebi Ekpebu, Head of Protocol at the Lagos Liaison Office—have distinguished themselves through exemplary service in public administration. Their contributions attracted dignitaries from within and outside the state, who gathered to honor the life and values of their beloved mother.

In her heartfelt tribute, Her Excellency, Dr. Gloria Diri, urged the children and mourners to uphold the virtues exemplified by Dame Zikama Pighi, particularly her strong faith and commitment to cleanliness, reinforcing the timeless principle that “cleanliness is next to godliness.”

The solemn ceremony was attended by several notable personalities, including Hon. Ebizi Brown, Member representing Sagbama Constituency III in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly. The large turnout reflected the profound impact Dame Zikama Pighi had on her community and the enduring legacy she leaves behind.
