Executive governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri has eulogized the late mother of the former Special adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan, Dr. Kingsley Kuku as virtuous woman and described her death a monumental loss to Arogbo kingdom and Ijaw nation.

The governor made the disclosure while speaking at the funeral ceremony at Arogbo town, said, ” We have lost a great mother who cared for her children dearly. Mama Keketobou Jane Kuku was a great Ijaw woman whose service to Ijaw nation is invaluable. We mourn her death and we miss her absence. Her demise is a set back and it’s irreparable to the Ijaw nation. I appeal to the Children to accept her loss in great faith. That God has taken her because He loves her most.” He lamented.
The Arogbo Kingdom in Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State is today, Saturday, 21st February 2026, hosting Day Three of the funeral ceremonies of Mama Keketobou Jane Kuku (née Gbamila), a devoted Christian and matriarch whose life spanned 90 remarkable years.

The day’s programme features a Funeral Service at 10:00am, followed by interment and a reception at Covenant Place, Tolukiribou Egbesubiri Quarters, Arogbo. Family members, traditional rulers, political leaders, associates, and well-wishers are gathering to celebrate a life of faith, humility, and devotion to family and community.
Mama Keketobou Jane Kuku passed on the 14th of October, 2026.

She is remembered as a woman of unwavering faith, compassion, and service to humanity. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, among whom is Hon. Dr. Kingsley Kemebradigha Kuku, who warmly welcomes all guests and expresses profound gratitude for the support and solidarity extended to the family.

The highpoint of today’s ceremony is the attendance of His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, Executive Governor of Bayelsa State and Governor-General of the Ijaw Nation. His presence reflects the deep ancestral and cultural ties of the Ijaw people and the esteem in which the late Mama is held.

Dignitaries from Ondo State and beyond are also in attendance, adding colour and solemnity to the occasion.

The grand finale of the ceremonies is scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, 22nd February 2026, with a Thanksgiving and Outing Service, alongside the formal Dedication of Covenant Place at Tolukiribou Egbesubiri Quarters, Arogbo.
