In a video shared by the DPV’s National Secretary, Ese Sanco, Diden explained that his decision to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid was based on counsel from respected leaders in the region—not a defection to another party.

He emphasized that supporting Tinubu is a strategic move to ensure the South completes its turn of eight years in the presidency, just as the North did under former President Muhammadu Buhari.

“It would be unwise for the South not to rally behind Tinubu now, just as we made the mistake of opposing Goodluck Jonathan in 2015,” Diden said.

Reiterating his loyalty to the PDP, he stated: “As I’ve said before, I am not a coward. If I were to decamp, I would publicly declare it. But as of today, I remain in the PDP.”

He cited the stance of Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, who recently called on supporters in Uvwiamuge to back Tinubu, and echoed the advice of the Orodje of Okpe, a revered monarch, who also urged support for the president.

“Obasanjo did 8 years, Buhari did 8 years, and Tinubu should be allowed to do 8 years,” Diden stressed.

He also announced the launch of a new grassroots initiative called Gate to Gate to mobilize support for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign.

“With this movement, we’ll take the campaign from gate to door and from door to the bedroom. Join us as we begin this journey for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027,” he concluded.
