RIVERS WOMEN HAIL FUBARA’S PEACE ADVOCACY

Rivers Women Unite for SIM have hailed and reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara’s peace advocacy as well as the unity and sustainable development of Rivers State. They called on all political leaders, stakeholders and political gladiators to continue supporting every genuine effort aimed at consolidating lasting peace across the state.
The women also applauded Gov. Fubara, for his purposeful leadership and unwavering commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy through the execution and completion of impactful projects across the state. They noted that the administration’s investments in roads, bridges and other critical infrastructure are improving connectivity, opening up communities, stimulating economic activities and enhancing the welfare of the people.
Speaking on Thursday during the August praise and thanksgiving held at the Ecumenical Centre, Port Harcourt, the Convener of the group, Amaopuorubo Sotonye Toby Fulton harped on the theme of the meeting: Peace Be Still!, stressing that peace remains the strongest foundation for development, economic growth and social harmony.
She commended the peace and reconciliation initiatives by Gov. Fubara and the FCT Minister, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike as well as the leadership of the Rainbow Coalition through sustained dialogue and reconciliation efforts.
She urged political actors to place the collective interest of Rivers State above personal ambitions, emphasizing that only a peaceful environment can attract investments, create jobs and accelerate infrastructure and human capital development.
Amaopuorubo Toby Fulton further encouraged the people to secure their permanent voters card to effectively participate in the 2027 elections.
Furthermore, Dr. Priye Oarhe, led the congregation on a powerful exultation/charge, and the women concluded through offering prayers for enduring peace in Rivers State, wisdom for political leaders at all levels and the well-being of women and youths in the State.
