2027 GENERAL ELECTION: DOYEN WARNS EXTERNAL FORCES TO STAY AWAY FROM ESE-ODO POLITICS.
Urges Federal Government, DSS, IGP, Military, Navy, and Security Outfits to Prevent Unrest; Calls on Niger Delta Leaders to Promote Unity.
By News Express Staff Correspondent.
Ese-Odo, Ondo State— From the heart of the Niger Delta creeks, a stern warning has been issued by Doyen, a respected legal and social media analyst, to self-acclaimed external political forces to stay away from the territories and politics of Ese-Odo Local Government Area as Nigeria approaches the 2027 general election.
Speaking at Amassoma waterside in SILGA on Wednesday, Doyen stressed that Ese-Odo, a riverine and strategically significant community, must not be allowed to become a theatre of political violence or manipulation by outsiders.
“Peace is not merely the absence of conflict; it is the presence of justice and fairness. Ese-Odo has always been a community where harmony prevails. We cannot allow it to be disturbed by external forces seeking personal or partisan gain,” he said.
Doyen urged the Federal Government, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), the Nigerian Military, the Nigerian Navy, Gallery Security Outfits, and local authorities in Ese-Odo to intensify security measures, with particular focus on external actors who may be plotting to foment unrest or disrupt the electoral process.
“The responsibility of safeguarding our people lies with both our leaders and security agencies. Let us ensure that Ese-Odo remains a place of peace, where the voice of the people is heard without fear or intimidation,” he added.
Doyen implored Niger Delta leaders to rise above partisan interests and play a constructive role in maintaining harmony in the region. “As leaders, we must remember that true power lies not in division, but in unity. Peace is the bedrock of development; without it, progress remains a dream,” he stated.
Quoting an African proverb, he reminded leaders: “When there is no peace, wealth and power are meaningless.” He also referenced Mahatma Gandhi: “There is no path to peace. Peace is the path.”
Doyen warned that any attempt to manipulate Ese-Odo politics from outside the state or local government would be met with both civic and traditional resistance, emphasizing that the people of Ese-Odo are politically mature and capable of handling their affairs peacefully.
He concludes by urging all stakeholders, political actors, security agencies, and community leaders to respect the electoral process, uphold democratic values, and allow the will of the people to prevail. “Let Ese-Odo serve as a model of peace for the entire Niger Delta region as Nigeria approaches another crucial election,” he said.
He added that the current architecture of security in the region is justified and must be maintained to preserve the peace that residents currently enjoy so let the 2027 general election not be different to record .
Thank you all.
