Andaye Receives Kwame Nkrumah Special Award

The Executive Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon. Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, has received the prestigious Kwame Nkrumah Special Award of Recognition for Peace, Transparency and Community Development in Ghana. The award, inspired by the enduring legacy of Kwame Nkrumah, was conferred by the African Network for Accountability, an Accra-based body committed to promoting accountability, ethical leadership, and good governance across Africa.

Hon. Andaye was recognised for his courageous, people-centered leadership style and his consistent commitment to transparency in the administration of Bomadi Local Government Area. According to the organisers, his governance approach has strengthened peace, encouraged community participation in governance, and promoted sustainable grassroots development, earning him continental recognition.

Although the award originated from Ghana, it was formally presented to the Chairman at his residence in Kpakiama, Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria. The presentation was carried out by Dr. Azu Monday, Director of Country, Nigeria; Miss Sandra Jonathan, Assistant Director of Country Base in Ghana; and Sinthia Mensah, Director of Media, Base in Ghana, who commended his accountability, integrity, and dedication to public service. They noted that his leadership style reflects the ideals of responsible governance championed across Africa.

In his remarks, Hon. Andaye expressed heartfelt appreciation for the honour, describing it as a motivation to continue serving his people with transparency and fairness. He reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining peace, strengthening accountability, and advancing inclusive community development in Bomadi Local Government Area.
