CONCERN ELDERS OF WARRI FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY OF DELTA STATE
OPEN LETTER TO THE NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER
Dear Sir,
WE CALL FOR THE IMMEDIATE ARESST OF ALEX EYENGHO FOR STOCKPILING ARMS TO CAUSE COMMUNAL WAR IN WARRI, DELTA STATE

We, the Concerned Elders of Warri Federal Constituency, write with urgency over disturbing developments capable of threatening peace and security in Warri Federal Constituency, Delta State.
We have remained committed to peace, coexistence and constitutional engagement despite years of political marginalization. However, peace must never be mistaken for weakness and restraint must never be interpreted as surrender.

On the 3rd of July, 2026, Mr. Alex Eyengho during a live press briefing by Itsekiris stated that, they have acquired guns to wipe out Ijaws from the Warri Federal Constituency of Delta State. We hereby call on the NSA, DSS, Police and other relevant authorities to immediately arrest Mr. Alex Eyengho, his accomplices including Mr. A. S. Mene, Robinson Ariyo and others and bring them to justice.

This statements were indeed made publicly and must not be ignored or dismissed as ordinary political rhetoric. Warri has suffered enough violence in the past. The crises of 1997, 1999, and 2003 remain painful reminders of the dangers of inflammatory statements and delayed intervention.
Violence does not begin with bullets.
Violence begins with dangerous rhetoric.
We therefore demand the immediate investigation and questioning of all persons linked to reported statements capable of threatening peace in Warri, including Chief Alex Eyengho, Barr. Ariyo Robinson and any other persons whose utterances may reasonably require lawful security scrutiny.
We also urge the Federal Government to support the immediate implementation of the completed INEC delineation report, which arose from constitutional and judicial directives, without intimidation or interference.

Warri Federal Constituency is not a battlefield. It is home to communities whose peace depends on justice, fairness and responsible leadership.
Nigeria must act before tension escalates.
