Stop the Social Media Bullying Against High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, PhD, and Other Prominent Ijaw Leaders or Face Legal Action – Gen. Ogidigba Warns
The National Chairman of Phase 3 of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Gen. Ogidigba Godstime Ogidigba, has called on individuals and groups behind what he described as a false and malicious social media campaign against High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), Dr. Dennis Otuaro, PhD, and other prominent Ijaw leaders to immediately desist or face legal consequences.
In a statement made available to newsmen on 24 July 2026, Gen. Ogidigba warned that the continued spread of false information and character assassination is capable of creating division, disunity, and conflict among Ijaw kingdoms. He noted that if left unchecked, such actions could result in legal proceedings against those responsible.
He further appealed to respected Ijaw leaders, traditional rulers, community heads, and stakeholders across all Ijaw kingdoms to advise their children and subjects against spreading false narratives and misinformation targeted at respected leaders of the Ijaw Nation.
According to him, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo (Tompolo) has made enormous sacrifices toward the development and global recognition of the Ijaw Nation. He stated that through Tantita Security Services Limited, Tompolo has contributed significantly to employment creation and has played a vital role in reducing sea piracy, kidnapping, illegal oil bunkering, and other criminal activities in the Niger Delta region.
Gen. Ogidigba also emphasized that Tompolo has remained committed to promoting peace, unity, and human capacity development across the Ijaw Nation, describing his contributions as immeasurable.
He therefore warned that any further defamatory or malicious social media attacks against Tompolo, Dr. Dennis Otuaro, and other prominent Ijaw leaders would leave them with no option but to seek legal redress against the individuals or groups involved.
