ONOME DEMA CONGRATULATES DCN CHRIS IYOWAYE, SAYS HIS VICTORY REFLECTS THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE
Olorogun Dr. Mrs. Onome Bernice Dema, has congratulated DCN Chris Iyowaye on his emergence as the duly elected Governorship candidate, describing his victory as a triumph of democracy and the collective will of party members.
In her congratulatory message, Olorogun Dr. Dema stated that the outcome of the election clearly demonstrates that the voice of the people cannot be suppressed, manipulated, or negotiated away by a few individuals seeking to impose their personal interests on the party.
She noted with concern that certain groups and political jobbers who recently joined the NDC had attempted to hijack the party’s structures and dictate who should emerge as candidates for key positions, including the governorship and other elective offices. According to her, such actions are contrary to the democratic principles upon which the party is founded.
Olorogun Dr. O.B. Dema emphasized that no single individual, regardless of influence or status, should be allowed to dominate the party or determine its leadership choices against the wishes of the majority of members.
She commended party faithful for standing firm in defense of democracy and ensuring that the electoral process reflected the genuine aspirations of the people.
Dcn. Chris Iyowaye’s victory is a clear message that power belongs to the people, not to a selected few, who seek to hijack the party’s structures for personal interest. The will of the people has prevailed and democracy has won,” she stated.
We want to assure all our supporters to steadfast as victory is sure, the mandate freely given will be consolidated and can not be transacted in any form.
She urged all members to remain united and committed to strengthening the party in winning the 2027 general election.
