Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has commended President Bola Tinubu for successfully managing the economic and governance challenges inherited from the administration of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Appearing on a television programme on Monday night, Fayose stated that while President Tinubu is not a perfect leader, he has demonstrated strong commitment and focus in addressing the country’s problems.
“Tinubu is not a perfect person but he has given his best,” Fayose said. “Things were worse at the exit of Buhari.”
The former governor, who is known for his outspoken views, described how Tinubu assumed office after Buhari’s tenure and took deliberate steps to stabilize the nation.
“Tinubu handed over the government to himself by taking over from Buhari and as a decent man who will not want to say that he has abandoned the northerners, he took everything to heart and managed the damage done to the country by the last administration,” he added.
Fayose further praised the president’s determination, noting that Tinubu has shown clear focus amid ongoing national challenges. He drew a parallel with the experience of former President Goodluck Jonathan, claiming that similar tactics of criticism over insecurity are being used against the current administration.
